Born and raised on the breathtaking island of Newfoundland. I have been exploring and expressing myself creatively since I was a little tater tot. Most times I kept my art on my designated paper or canvas, but sometimes my imagination got the better of me, and I had to turn to walls, furniture and more, to fully express myself. Not everyone appreciated those 'masterpieces'. 2004 marked a significant turning point in my creative adventure. A friend of mine sat me down with a 16x20 canvas, a 1/2 inch flat brush, and some acrylic paints. I starting splashing the paints around and suddenly the world around me disappeared. I became entranced in a whirl of colour and chaos. I had painted before in art class, but nothing compared to this moment. Nothing felt as liberating.  I quickly discovered how wonderful the world of acrylic paints was. There was no looking back. Soon I discovered there was a name for my style, Abstract Expressionism. I love getting lost for hours in this world. Right away people began asking if my work was for sale. At that point, these paintings were pages of my journal. Part of me. It felt weird to know they wanted to bring these pages home. I am forever evolving as an artist, and I am so excited to share that my paintings can be found in many homes across Canada and the United States, as well as several ongoing displays in Nova Scotia. In 2011, with the support and encouragement of Jamie McCabe from Clay Cafe Avalon, I finally began offering art classes, where I could share my passion for art with others in a new way. When my path changed course and drew me to Nova Scotia, it didn't take me long to start exploring the area for creative souls and start offering the classes again. They have been a real success! Now it's time to expand the creative opportunities to my new neighbourhood AND online!
